About Therapy

How can therapy with a psychologist assist me?

Psychologists are trained to understand human behavior and the impact of life stresses on emotions and coping mechanisms. Therapy provides skills and strategies to manage emotional challenges and mental health issues, empowering you to achieve independence and stronger personal, social, and occupational functioning.

What can I expect from therapy?

The first 1-2 sessions focus on assessing your current difficulties, history, and background. This helps the therapist understand your situation and plan your treatment. Therapy may include structured tasks (e.g., homework) or a flexible approach, tailored to your needs. Significant improvements in coping and functioning can often be seen within the first few appointments.
